Governing Bodies

The Centro Studi sul Federalismo is a Participatory Foundation. Its members – currently: the Compagnia di San Paolo, the Universities of Turin, of Pavia, of Milan and the Turin Polytechnic – are represented in the Participants’ Assembly, who decides on the guidelines of the Centre’s activities, its annual balance sheet and its budget, and appoints the President, the Board of Directors and the Board of Auditors.
The Board of Directors has full powers of ordinary and extraordinary administration, with the exception of the matters reserved for the Participants’ Assembly.
The Participants’ Assembly of 31 March 2025 made the appointments for the three-year period which will end with the approval of the 2027 balance sheet.
The Board of  Directors is responsible for appointing the Vice President and the Director, and may co-opt a maximum of three members; it can also appoint a Scientific Committee.

Presentation

The CSF Foundation (FCSF) was established in 2000 by the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Universities of TurinPavia and Milan as founders and the Polytechnic of Turin as co-founder. It is recognized by the Prefettura/UTG (the Government Territorial Office of Turin)

The CSF Foundation operates as a policy-oriented think-tank, promoting interdisciplinary research, information and documentation activities on the topics of international relations, geopolitics and European integration, in synergy with universities, research centers, public institutions and private entities, at a national and international level.

The CSF Foundation’s  legal headquarters are based in Turin, Piazza Arbarello 8 (at the Fondazione Collegio Carlo Alberto) and its operating office is in Rome, Via dei Montecatini 17 (at the Istituto Affari Internazionali - IAI). It steadily collaborates with organizations and institutions such as IAI, the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), and The German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF), as well as Robert Triffin International (RTI), whose work focuses on the reform of the international monetary system.

The CSF Foundation's library, specializing in studies relating to European integration, maintains approximately 14,000 volumes and a rich newspapers archive and constitutes the Gianni Merlini European Section of the Norberto Bobbio Library.
